About Ken's Mobile Service
I am Ken of Ken's Mobile Service. Here is a little information about myself, my experience,
and what my mobile outdoor power equipment service can offer you.
I started working on outdoor power equipment at age of 15, in the summer of 1974 at Austin Hydro Gas Co.
This was a local shop located in south Austin. I started there part time and after I graduated high school
took a full time position as lead 2 Cycle technician. I worked there for 12 years before moving on to another south Austin facility,
Austin Small Engine Clinic. There I was the chief technician and trained and watched over all the other technicians.
After 3 years, the company was sold and I went on to work for several Outdoor Power Equipment Companies in the Austin Area
in different capacities as Service Manager, Store Manager, and of course Engine and Equipment Technician.
I have held positions at Pat's of Austin, Diamond Jim's OPE, Sharp All Shop, and S & G Lawn Mower.
During my time at the various places of my employment, I attended Factory sponsored service and update schools
for many major engine and equipment manufacturers of outdoor power equipment, including Briggs and Stratton,
Tecumseh, Kohler, Kawasaki, Honda, McCulloch, Poulan/Weedeater, Homelite, MTD, Echo, Shindaiwa,
Tanaka, Red Max, Yazoo/Kees, Stihl, John Deere, Toro, Exmark, Scag, Snapper, Lawnboy, Walbro, Tillotson, Zama, Oregon, and others.
These classes provided me an abundance of knowledge in the service and repair of outdoor power equipment.
This also allowed me to hone my skills in rapid identification of equipment issues.
Over the past 37 + years I have gained an enormous amount of experience on virtually all phases of engine and equipment repair and maintenance.
I have extensive knowledge of both 2 cycle and 4 cycle engine operation, including electrical, and fuel system operation.
In 2005 I decided to start Mobile Service of Outdoor Power Equipment and Ken's Mobile Service was born.
Based on my previous service experience, I have equipped a small enclosed trailer and added all the necessary tools needed
to complete onsite repairs of outdoor power equipment. I have my own power supply, air compressor, common service parts,
computer, mobile internet, parts lookup, service manuals and special small engine tools.
This setup allows me to complete most jobs efficiently, on site, and in one visit.
So when I say "I bring the shop to you" that is what I really mean.
I only cover a limited service area, but there are links to other Mobile Service providers that I have experience with and can recommend.
They deliver top quality knowledgeable service and are very reputable. These mobile service providers operate in areas that I do not service,
you can find links to them here. My labor rates are competitive with most of the local small engine repair facilities in the Austin Area,
but I do charge a trip fee for coming out. My knowledge and experience combined allow me to spend less time troubleshooting issues,
and less time getting them repaired properly. This ultimately results in overall savings to you.
You will always be able to reach me via the internet. I created and have owned the imower domain since 1997.
You can search online and find reviews for my service. I would encourage anyone seeking service of any kind to do a little research before you hire.
I have come across work in the past, that was not done correctly by inexperienced repairman. Individuals that lack training and experience with the many
different brands and types of engines and equipment. This may not save you anything in the long run,
in fact they may end up costing more. Use caution if you cannot verify a proven track record of
someone claiming to be a reputable mobile repair service.
Over the past 37 years, I have worked on literally thousands of pieces of Outdoor Power Equipment, and I have countless satisfied customers.
I have very high ratings on independent customer review websites since starting my mobile service.
You can rest easy with peace of mind, knowing that repairs and service will be done right, and all my work carries a warranty.
If you need help with any of your Outdoor Power Equipment,
give me a call at (512) 699-2321 Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00 pm, or
visit my service request page, and of course you can always contact me via email.
I will be happy to assist you, in anyway I can.
Thanks,
Ken
